Sognom Part 3

We had all been looking forward to doing Sognom Part 3 for such a long time. Sex Tags invited me to take part in Sognom Part 2 and I was immediately struck by some of the shared principles at work in Sognom Part 1 and certain parts of my own recent work. So we immediately set about trying to decide on a way of presenting the project. After a while of failing to find a time that would suit us all, we finally figured out a way of doing it.

So there we were, at opening night, I had even installed the pieces myself because Stefan was still in Berlin and Peter couldn’t make it to the space until the following day. Quite a few people came, but no one really saw the work. I mean really saw it. Most of the time it was like people didn’t even notice that the works were there, like they didn’t exist, like they all were just at this space to get drunk and blabber about their miserable teenage love-lifes. So no one saw the pieces except my friend Christine who watched me install the show and who, kind of at my request, didn’t really try to get anyone else to have a look.

It’s a shame, though, because the show was awesome and made up of my own personal favourites from the Sex Tags archive of drawings. But no one saw it.
